After many years of planning, study and research, the Mainspring method is finally up and running. It’s a day of celebration, for myself, the field I work in, and for sufferers of chronic illness, Australia-wide and one day, across the world.
Introducing the Mainspring method
My vision for Mainspring is to enable people to become actively involved in the recovery of their illnesses and preventative self-care. For too long in the Western world, people have handed over the their illnesses to doctors, pharmaceutical companies and fate. There has been little regard in mainstream society as to how one’s own lifestyle choices, emotions, past life events, relationships, social connection, belief systems and thoughts processes contribute to health and illness. All this is about to change.
The Mainspring Method helps you identify and understand the psychological and emotional causes of and contributors to illness, and gives you the tools you need to recover. Not only does Mainspring teach you how to adopt and maintain healthful beliefs and behaviour, it also helps you find a new level of empowerment and personal growth along the way.
How Mainspring works
Grounded in evidence-based health psychology, the Mainspring Method is a healing modality that addresses the psychological and social contributors to poor health and disease. Uniquely, Mainspring pinpoints the psychosocial causes of ill-health and works with clients to address them and introduce mind-body therapies that promote healing and good health.
The mind-body connection
The Mainspring Method is based on the proven belief that a person’s health is influenced by a large number of factors, including their psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. Stress, trauma, unhappy relationships, poor lifestyle factors, negative emotions and unhelpful thinking and belief patterns can all have a detrimental effect on physical health. Conversely, relaxation, self-awareness, healthy relationships, positive beliefs and thought patterns, good lifestyle factors and behaviours and emotional balance can all have a positive or protective effect on physical health.
By understanding these relationships, addressing negative patterns and beliefs, and reinforcing positive ones, Mainspring assists clients towards real change and lasting improved health outcomes.
We are in the process of establishing a Mainspring clinic here in Adelaide, With a long-term plan to build a network of clinics across Australia. I will also be organising speaking and training events in the upcoming months. You can subscribe to Mainspring events and updates here.
In the meantime feel free to contact me to discuss training, mentoring and speaking, or make individual appointments.
Here’s to your health!
